Is August 20, 2012 a non-working holiday?

Are we going to we have two long weekends?  will August 20, a Monday, be declared as a holiday? Well, I’m also waiting for confirmation.

I’m referring to upcoming holidays next week and the following week. August 21, a Tuesday, was declared a special, non-working holiday to commemorate the death anniversary of former senator Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., the father of incumbent Philippine President, Noynoy Aquino.

Likewise, August 27, Monday, was already declared a regular holiday under Proclamation No. 295, s. 2011 for the celebration of National Heroes’ Day.

One of the tentative dates of the end of Ramadan is August 20.  The end of Ramadan, called as “Eid’l Fitr” in Islam, which had previously been declared as special non-working holiday in the Philippines.  But there are other websites that says the end of Ramadan falls on August 18. So it is not yet clear if August 20 is a non-working holiday.

UPDATE: Malacanang declares August 20 as a Regular Holiday in the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Fitr or Feast/End of Ramadhan, under Proclamation No. 455, s. 2012 signed by His Excellency Noynoy Aquino.
