Causes and treatment of chronic gas

Are you suffering from stomach gas or intestinal gas? Occasional stomach gas does not pose any health concerns but if you have chronic gas, it may be an indication of something more serious.

I think my husband is suffering from chronic gas since he experience abdominal bloating, belching , abdominal pain and discomfort almost everyday. Because I want to help him in his condition I’m currently studying what are the causes, prevention and treatment to eliminate intestinal gas.

Based on the article I read the causes of stomach gas include:

  • Eating foods that don’t agree with you
  • Not properly combining foods
  • Gulping air while you are eating
  • Bacteria in your intestines produces the majority of your gas

When you have a combination of these causes it will result to an excessive stomach gas And poor digestion leads to an increase in gas production. Complications of  excessive gas include diarrhea, constipation, nausea or vomiting, weight loss, abdominal or rectal pain, and persistent heartburn.

How to treat stomach gas? Traditional medical doctors will usually recommend medicines designed to help reduce the symptoms of gas. A reduction or elimination of foods that cause gas and limiting high-fat foods will also be recommended. But these are not guaranteed way of eliminating chronic gas. I read that a safe, effective and natural way to eliminate excessive stomach gas is colon cleansing. That choosing the right colon cleanse program will help to rebalance the good and bad bacteria in our body.

Now I just have to find a colon cleanse that works for my husband to try. I think his stomach is really full of bacteria because he likes eating fatty and street foods. Anyway, now I know what to do and how to help him.
