    i’m a pure bicolana & dapat alamang ang gamitin and don’t put too much coconut milk..dapat di yan masabaw,kita dapat ung ingredients mo when u serve it..sorry po pra di ma confuse ung in case gustong matuto magluluto..

    Ang sarap nmn nyan.. Sana naintindihan ko ng maige kase mas,mlkas pa yung background sound kesa sa voice mo kuya sana next time hinaan mo ng konti ung sound..

    bicolano ako pero this is not the traditional way of cooking Bicol Express. magkaiba ang lasa pag ganito ang pagkakaluto compared sa tradisyonal na pagluto… ginagawa ko rin ang ganitong luto pag tinatamad ako magluto… usually kasi dapat naka slow fire ka saka hindi kelangan lumubog sa sabaw ung pork saka kelangan ung gata kumusang lumuntang ang mantika at hindi ginigisa ang mga sahog, saka siling labuyo na tinadtad ang gamit at alamang hindi bagoong – magiging binagoongan ang lasa niyan

    Hi Panalasang Pinoy araming salamat sa pagshare mo nitong ulam na tinatawag mo na Bicol Express. In all honesty, I hope you don’t mind, there is no such cuisine in Bicol kitchen called Bicol Express.As a Bicolano ,the only Bicol Express that I know of is the train that ply between Bicol and Manila. Considering the ingredients that you used, this is more a modified version of Gulay na Balaw. It’s the closest I can think of. Let me deal with that in my succeeding comments. Noentheless thank you

    @rai11th Tama ka. What weuse is balaw (fresh small shrimps). In fact it is themain ingredient. Sa pork naman we don’t use much meat but only a few strips of pork fat to flavor. In my experience the taste is better kung ang gamit mo ay fresh grated coconut rather than cocomilk in can. Kailangan din na lumalabas ang mantika ng niyog. This is the reason why minsan tumataggal ang Gulay na Balaw kahit di irefrigerate. Meron pa ngang Gulay na Sili na ang main ingredient is sili ang kaunting Balaw.

    This looks like a good recipe. We are headed out to shop for the ingredients for this dish. I love it very spicy ! I first tried bicol express when stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Northern CA (Fairfield). I used to go to that restaurant every week for bicol express and much more. Now living in Boston area of New England (only one filipino restaurant in the state & their version is just o.k.). I made this mysef when living in the Philippines. Ready to try reope again. Wish me luck!
