Coconut Macaroons

My kids love sweets and desserts so I always scour the web for new recipes to try at home. Today I found Almond Coconut Macaroons. It’s very easy to prepare, cooking time is 15 minutes and the ingredients are easy to find. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

• 3 cups shredded coconut
• 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• Almond nuts

Preparation:

Generously grease baking sheets. Combine all ingredients; stir until well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 inch apart, on prepared baking sheets. Press down with the back of spoon to even thickness. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, or until macaroons are golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from baking sheet.
Makes about 36 coconut macaroons.

Since I don’t have Almond nuts I’ll just replace it and try using other kind of nuts i.e. peanuts etc.

One more thing, while searching for a nice photo of coconut macaroons I found this Coconut Macaroons dipped with Chocolate. It looks good and yummy! This is new to me so I will try this one at home. :)
