Recording Video From a Webcam with Movavi Video Editor

In the past whenever I watched vlogs or some of the other types of ‘talking heads’ and commentary videos, I’ve always toyed with the idea of creating one of my own. It seemed simple, but I never really got into it – mostly because I had little or no idea where to start.

Recently I came across Movavi Video Editor however, and it immediately struck me that it could be exactly what I needed. Not only would it apparently allow me to record videos using nothing more than my webcam, but it also had the features that I would need to edit the footage that was recorded.

Needless to say this seemed appealing, so I decided to try it out on a whim. At first I was a bit wary because I’d always thought that video editing was complicated, but as I started to use Movavi Video Editor I began to realize that it took great pains to make it as easy and intuitive as possible.

One of the first things that I did with Movavi Video Editor was try to use it to record video from my webcam, and found that it only took a few steps to set it up as a webcam recorder:

  1. After launching Movavi Video Editor I clicked the ‘Record Video’ button.
  2. In the capture app that opened I set the ‘Video capture device’ to my webcam, and checked the other parameters too.
  3. To start recording all I had to do was click ‘Start Capture’, and then ‘Stop Capture’ when I was done and the video was automatically saved to the destination folder specified.

Because it was so easy I felt confident enough to start exploring the other features in Movavi Video Editor as well. When I did I was amazed to find that I could quite easily cut and combine video segments, apply special effects and filters, add customizable text, enhance the video quality, insert audio tracks, and much more.

Before long I was able to start to edit the video that I’d recorded from my webcam using Movavi Video Editor. By cutting the footage into shape and then adding some finishing touches with subtle background music and the right filter I was able to create my very first piece of video content. Now I plan to create more in the future, seeing as it turned out to be a piece of cake.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall

I heard in the news this morning that Samsung released a new guidance for Galaxy Note 7 users: Turn off the phone and bring it in for a replacement phone. Samsung announced a week ago that it would immediately stop selling the phone and replace the 2.5 million it had already sold. Customers must bring the phones with them to receive a refund or a different model.

What’s the problem with Note 7? According to report, there’s a risk that the Note 7 can catch fire while charging due to problems with the battery. Phones in China don’t appear to be affected because they have a different battery.

What should you do? Samsung “strongly” advised customers to power down their phones and participate in the program in a statement posted on their global website.

Can I take it on a plane? Note 7 users can take their phones on board airplanes but the phones must be powered off and cannot be connected to a charging device. The phones should be carried onto the plane and not stowed in checked luggage, according to guidance from airlines around the world.
